Is Hangar a terminal, or an AI coding agent?
Hangar is a native terminal workspace. It brings your shell, Claude Code and Codex into one place. You keep using your own CLI tools and agent accounts.
Which Macs does it work on?
Hangar requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later and supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The universal download is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Open the DMG and drag Hangar to Applications.
Do I need Claude or Codex to use it?
No. Hangar works with your shell and CLI tools on their own. Agent features become useful when you use Claude Code or Codex. Their accounts, subscriptions and credits are separate from Hangar.
What happens to my sessions when I close Hangar?
Terminal sessions run independently of the window. Reopen Hangar to reconnect to surviving sessions. After a restart, running processes are gone; saved agent conversations can be found and resumed when the underlying tool supports it.
What happens after the trial?
You get 14 days with the full app, with no card or automatic charge. After that, a $39 Lifetime license is required to keep using Hangar. Your local project files stay yours.
Where does my code go?
Hangar does not upload your terminal output or project files to Iney. Commands and AI tools you run can communicate with their own services. License activation uses the shared Iney licensing service. See our Privacy Policy.
How many Macs does one license cover?
Up to three of your personal Macs at once. Your email is your license: sign in with it in Hangar to activate. You can deactivate a Mac from the app to free a slot.
Are updates included?
Yes. Future Hangar updates are included in Lifetime. Updates currently install manually: download the latest DMG and replace Hangar in Applications.
Can I get a refund?
Try the full app free for 14 days before buying. New purchases do not include change-of-mind refunds. Exceptions for duplicate payments, qualifying technical problems and cases required by law are described in the Refund Policy.
